These terms apply to any quote, order, or manufacturing and fulfilment service provided by Bench Built ("we", "us", "our") to a customer ("you"). By submitting an enquiry, accepting a quote, or placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.
Quotes are provided free of charge and without obligation. Unless stated otherwise, a quote is valid for 14 days from the date it's issued and is based on the specifications, quantities, and files provided at the time. Prices may change if the specification, quantity, or materials required change after a quote is given.
An order is confirmed once you've approved a quote in writing (including by email). Once confirmed, we'll provide an estimated lead time; this is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and may be affected by material availability, order complexity, or factors outside our control.
You confirm that you own, or have the right to share, any files, designs, or specifications you send us for manufacture. We'll treat anything you share with us as confidential, and will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request before reviewing sensitive files.
For custom or bespoke items made to your specification, we recommend confirming exact requirements (dimensions, materials, tolerances, finish) in writing before production begins. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, bespoke items made to a customer's specification may have different return rights to standard stock items — we'll always try to resolve any issue with a genuine fault or manufacturing error.
Payment terms will be confirmed at the point of quote or order confirmation. We reserve the right to require a deposit before starting production on larger or custom orders.
We inspect parts and assemblies at key stages of production. If you receive a defective or incorrectly manufactured item, contact us within a reasonable time of receipt and we'll investigate, and where appropriate, repair, replace, or refund the affected item(s).
You may cancel an order before production has started at no cost. Once production has begun, cancellation may be subject to a charge covering materials and work already completed, which we'll confirm with you before proceeding.
We aim to deliver a reliable, high-quality service, but we don't accept liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from delays or issues outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
